The queen of Arabic – Een Ode aan Fairuz (Women Only)
88 jaar is ze alweer, maar nog altijd door jong en oud geliefd in de hele Arabische wereld: superster Fairuz. Van Bagdad tot Beirut en van Doha tot Rabat, in alle huizen klinken grote hits als ‘Itab’, ‘Kifan Inta’ en ‘Sallimleh Alayh’. Maar allang niet meer alleen daar. Ook in Groningen vult de legendarische stem van de The Queen of Arabic inmiddels vele huiskamers. Vooral in de ochtend, want zo ontdekten we, veel vrouwen beginnen de dag samen met koffie en Fairuz. Daarom presenteert DWDW samen met het Prins Claus Conservatorium op woensdagochtend 17 mei ‘The queen of Arabic: een ode aan Fairuz’!
Kom koffie drinken en geniet van de prachtige muziek van Fairuz, gespeeld door studenten van het conservatorium.

She may already be 88 years old, but superstar Fairuz is still much beloved by young and old throughout the Arab world. From Baghdad to Beirut and from Doha to Rabat, big hits like ‘Itab’, ‘Kifan Inta’ and ‘Sallimleh Alayh’ can be heard from windows and open doorways. But, her greatness has also spread abroad. In Groningen the legendary voice of The Queen of Arabic now fills many a living room. Especially in the morning, because, as we have since discovered, many women start their day with coffee and Fairuz. That is why DWDW, together with the Prince Claus Conservatoire, presents ‘The queen of Arabic: an ode to Fairuz’ on Wednesday morning 17 May.
